As part of this symposium, the University of Bordeaux has the great pleasure to host the exhibition "La santé et la sécurité au travail s'affichent" proposed by the Institut national de recherche et de sécurité pour la prévention des accidents du travail et des maladies professionnelles (www.inrs.fr).
Since 1947, INRS posters have been faithful markers of the evolution of society and the world of work. They have been affixed in workshops, factories, warehouses, construction sites or offices to raise awareness and inform workers about health and safety at work. The posters offered in this exhibition cover many sectors of activity and all the occupational risks that may be encountered in the world of work. These posters alert, inform or raise awareness about the actions or behaviors to adopt in order not to expose oneself to a risk of work accident or occupational disease.
This exhibition shows the importance in everyday life of a culture of prevention shared through safety posters, a sociologically and historically significant INRS graphic heritage. It offers an immersion in more than 70 posters highlighting the evolution of prevention messages through the ages. This exhibition is organized around three parts:
- prevention culture, changes in the world of work and occupational risks;
- the look on the worker: from culprit to prevention actor;
- the graphic look of the poster artists on prevention.
